For anyone wondering, yes! I do have another one note a day! Although that one is still in use, it gained a lot of unnecessary notes! So I will be also using this one!!

Hello all!! It’s been almost 2 years (607 days) since we made this post (woah!), and Im once again thanking everyone for all the epic support!! These past years have certainly been difficult, and the amount of care and hope this app has shown me is incredulous. Gosh I remember crying with happiness after my original one-note post gained 600 notes in a few hours, overwhelmed that this many people could care. I remember scrawling the amount of days left on my wrist, the number always rising by the next day. That was a time of desperate struggle to find reason to stay alive, and this post gave it.

Eventually, there also comes a time where we heal! I learned healthy coping mechanisms to process emotions!! I learned how to love myself, my support system, and generally the world! Sooo with 4183 days to spare (/J!!) I can now confidently say that I don’t need this post to live by anymore!! I’m free from the depression and grief and am dealing with my anxiety better than ever! WOOOO!! Thus, for the first time in a long time: I have hope in my future, and I’m loving how its turning out to be!

So thank you all so much!! Thank you @imnotangstyiswear and everyone else who would give notes multiple times a day for days, thank you @rainbow-radio for making the positivity list✨ that helped me sm and so many others, thank you all who dedicated time to spam hearts and text (even without knowing me personally!), and thank you all who simply reblogged!! Thank you so SO much to all my beloved mutuals who cheered me up and listened despite it all! y’all helped me survive!! And I’m so fucking happy I did!! <3

shit. I just found a website that collects letters from environmental scientists describing the emotions they feel about climate change. as you can imagine it is not a fun read whatsoever. but this one in particular is killing me right now:

“Few scientists in my field are still seriously considering avoidance of environmental collapse; instead, the dominant discourse is centred on damage control. Once one accepts that catastrophe is inevitable, it brings a certain clarity that fury cannot.

I’m so sick of having to prove “usefulness”. Living things don’t exist for you. A species of ugly inedible bug living under a rock has as much right to keep existing as a pretty deer.

This is such an important concept and something that I think I need to work on more when talking conservation with people. So often I’ll instinctively defend a species by saying something like “spiders are actually so cute and they’re important for managing insect populations” which, while true, doesn’t really do anything to address that fact that spiders do not exist for our convenience. All animals are deserving of our respect and responsible stewardship, whether they meet our human standards of “value” or not.
